This is a Special Appointment position with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS).
The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
This position is limited to current Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services employees only.
GRADE 16 LOCATION OF POSITION Carroll County 6852 4th Street Sykesville, MD 21784 POSITION DUTIES The Guest Services Administrator manages and oversees all guest services operations, including reception area management and supervision of staff, reservation management for use of facility space to include classroom, lodging and other special event areas.
This position is also responsible for the coordination of facility logistics for all training activities at the Public Safety Education and Training Center (PSETC).
Organizational skills, independent decision making skills, customer service skills and the ability to multi-task in a high paced environment are necessary for this position.
The position's duties include:
Supervision of full-time guest services associate and service specialist.
Creation of policy and procedures for reception area.
Coordination with facility staff concerning building maintenance and housekeeping issues.
Management of all onsite training resources and facilities including confirmation of classroom reservations and associated fees.
Preparation of user agreements for non-client agencies and necessary billing statements.
Performance of close out functions after events and activities to include billing and distribution of surveys.
Management and coordination of scheduling for all guest lodging reservations in Nite Vision (hotel registration software).
Scheduling and coordination of classroom logistics including details regarding special set up needs, A/V, lodging room blocks, and catering requests.
Collaboration with staff committees for special events.
MINIMUM
Qualifications Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Four years of administrative staff or professional work in a professional office setting or within the hospitality industry.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s).

An Associate's Degree or above from an accredited college or university.
Supervisory experience in a professional office setting or within the hospitality industry.
Direct customer service experience.
Experience working with hotel management, property management or other software scheduling systems.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION This position is limited to current Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services employees only.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
